Efteling have revealed their 2020 guest numbers, along with the financial impact that the coronavirus pandemic had upon their operation.
In an interview for an official blog post, director Fons Jurgens stated that attendance was 2.9 million visitors in 2020. This is down by nearly a half from the previous year's figures believed to be 5.26 million people.
Financially, the park saw its income reduced by 38.3% for a total of €140 million. This caused a yearly loss of €14.5 million.
The reductions were caused by a combination of the park being closed for 14 weeks more than it would previously have been, along with reduced park capacity when it could open and cancelled hotel and holiday bookings.
